Skills:

  • Command over typography & use of colours
  • Adept at Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (optional)
  • Basic knowledge of CorelDraw
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable with Windows/Mac
  • Proficiency in English

Education:

  • A degree in commercial art (from a leading art college)
  • Marketing degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum work experience required is 5 years
  • Should have worked full time in a communications agency for at least 3 years

Scope of Job

  • Carrying out market research through industry contacts, publications, trade events, news to identify ideas for growth
  • You will reach out directly or through partners to target prospective business deals
  • You will filter out high potential deals by analysing business strategies, opportunity requirements / pre-requisites / financials, and internal priorities
  • You will lead the negotiation to close the deal and draw in resources from within the company to make it happen
  • You will manage all contractual requirements and align the end result with the company’s internal operations and capabilities
  • As the face of the organisation, you will also help in building the brand of the company in the industry, vendor and customer community

In addition

  • Helping in developing and adapting the company vision to the changing business environment
  • Helping in defining the company goals for the short / medium and long term
  • Helping create the annual business development budget
  • Developing and building a competitive business development team consisting of managers and executives

Specific Requirements

  • Should be adept at selling high ticket sponsorship packages
  • Should have very strong networks with key clients in the industry that focus on the youth and also agencies.

Education

  • Educational background in business, accounting and economics would be appreciated
  • An MBA degree from a top ranked MBA school in India

Experience

  • Should have worked in a start up at some stage of his/ her career
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in sales of which at least half is specifically in concept selling and closing high-ticket sponsorships.
  • Experience in an agency and handling clients specific to the youth segment would be an added advantage.
